Man may have spoken to Mark after the collision

POLICE searching for missing 50-year-old Mark Dinsmore from Bushmills continues, have appealed directly to a man they think may be able to help.

Mark was last seen at around 6pm on Saturday evening, 24th October, when his grey Audi A4 was involved in a road traffic collision in the Ballybogey Road area of Ballymoney.

There are serious concerns for his welfare, as we believe he sustained injuries during this collision and he has not been in contact with family or friends since.

Mark is described as being approximately 5ft 8in, of medium build, with short dark hair, and was dressed in a red coat, white t-shirt, jeans and white trainers.

Local policing Inspector Armour said: “On Saturday 31st October, we returned to the Ballybogey Road and spoke with passing drivers, in the hope that they may have been in the area the week before.

“Those we spoke to were really keen to help with our enquiries. We now believe that a man may have stopped and spoken with Mark after the collision, and want to appeal to him to get in touch. I want to emphasise that there is no suspicion of wrong-doing on his part – we think that he was a ‘Good Samaritan’ who helped him from his vehicle.

“If you were travelling along the Ballybogey Road that evening and came across the collision between Mark’s vehicle and a grey Nissan Juke, please contact us.

“We also continue to appeal to anyone with relevant dash-cam footage, or any details relating to the collision or Mark’s whereabouts, to come forward. Every piece of information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could help.”

Inspector Armour also thanked all those who have helped so far. “We are working alongside voluntary search and rescue partners, and members of the public have assisted with the search by checking outbuildings, sheds and unoccupied buildings. Mark’s family are so appreciative of every single person who has come to their aid.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting reference number 431 of 25/10/26.
