Portstewart's dominant display saw them score nine goals against Tobermore, continuing their winning form.

THE Seahawks made easy work of their opposition in the Craig Memorial Senior Cup at Fortwilliam Park.

Portstewart took the lead just over 15 minutes from Daniel Boyle who was assisted by Joshua Busteed. Aidan McDaid added to the goal tally in the 20th minute, and Zach Barr’s penalty after the half hour mark completed the scoring in the first half, cruising to 3-0.

It would be an understatement to say things went from bad to worse for the homeside, they conceded six goals in the next half as Portstewart took complete control of the match.

Jacob Bond netted two, the first coming just after the whistle. Busteed hit his brace just before an hour on the clock, Rhys McDermott made his mark in the match in the 73rd minute with a Jack Devenney assist.

Portstewart Manager David McDaid was subbed on and made his mark just two minutes later from a Jacob Bond assist, Aidan McDaid added his second goal, and Jacob Bond finished the scoring on the afternoon after a Daniel Boyle assist.

The comfortable League leaders are back in NCL action Tuesday 27 October in an away clash against Dollingstown, with all eyes on continuing their undefeated League form.

The home side sit in seventh place with eight points, with two wins, two draws, and a sole loss in their last five.

Recent statistics show that Portstewart are not only the most offensive among their peers, but also have the best defence.

They’ve scored 20 goals so far this Season, and conceded only six - which is matched by St James Swifts and Ballyclare Comrades, who are two of the top four teams.
