Roesiders look to secure a positive result in their return to League action tomorrow

Limavady suffered a late sucker punch against Glentoran last weekend to deny them any points at the Oval, but a trip to Taylors Avenue against Carrick Rangers provides them the opportunity to get back into winning ways.

The match against the Glens was scoreless right up until the 94th minute, before Daniel Larmour found the back of Marty Gallagher’s net to deny Paul Owens’ side a vital League point; even the single point would have been beneficial in their League standings, creating a further gap between themselves and Portadown FC, who are close behind.

Their opposition tomorrow secured a point against Linfield FC after a 2-2 finish; Linfield were first from Kobei Moore, Paul Heatley equalised, and Matthew Fitzpatrick edged his side ahead before the break. And the equaliser and final goal of the game came shortly after the start of the second half from Daniel Gibson.

In a more positive note, and for both sides, they advanced into the second round of the Bet McLean Cup after Limavady defeated Annagh United 4-3, and Carrick cruised past Newy City with a 3-0 finish.

And speaking of the second round, the draw for all teams who advanced, and the automatic advancement for the European teams (Coleraine, Glentoran, Larne and Linfield), the draw for the next match will be drawn today at 4:30pm, which can be watched here: https://www.nifltv.co.uk/en
