Things hotting up on the sporting front

Things are really starting to ramp on the sports front as we approach what promises to be a busy part of the year.

Of course, much of our focus is on the fortunes of Coleraine FC as they chase silverware on two fronts.

They complete their league programme this weekend at home to Glentoran - with a number of permutations still possible, including winning the league title.

Then, next weekend, they dust down their cup final suits as they prepare to take on holders Dungannon Swifts in the showpiece occasion of the football calendar - the Irish Cup final at the national stadium.

They are not the only team at the Showgrounds preparing for a final, though, as the club's Under-18s take on Linfield Rangers in the final of the Harry Cavan Youth Cup this weekend.

We have all the news from a busy week at the club inside a packed football section in this week's paper.

Elsewhere, we speak with Coleraine's rising pool star - Archie Henderson - who is winning all before home both at home and abroad.

Derry senior footballers got their Ulster SFC up and running with a comfortable win over Antrim while members of Coleraine Rugby Club celebrated the end of a successful season with their end of year awards dinner.

We have all the details.

Aside from that, we have all your usual reports from a range of sports including golf, motorsport and much more besides.

So, to keep up with all the latest, pick up a copy of the newspaper today.
