Increased capacity for the visit of Glentoran

Showgrounds will boast increased capacity for the visit of Glentoran
It already promised to have a huge attendance.
Now, Friday’s meeting of Coleraine and Glentoran at the Coleraine Showgrounds is set to boast an even bigger crowd, thanks to work which has just been completed on one part of the ground.
Following a meeting with the Safety Advisory Group (SAG), the capacity of the Uncovered Terrace has been increased to over 1,400.
The increased capacity will take effect from Friday night’s match, with full ratification to follow after a further review by the SAG in the coming weeks.
Speaking about the exciting development, Chief Executive Officer, Dale Pryde-MacDonald, said: “During the summer we made a commitment to develop the far side to increase capacity. With the help of many stakeholders we have been able to do that.
“Firstly, our thanks to Friends of Coleraine for the monetary support they have given us in completing this project. I would also personally like to thank Directors Chris Fillis and Niall McGill, along with former Coleraine FC Chairman David Cameron who have been the drivers of this and who have overseen this work. Without their support this simply would not have happened.
“We would also like to thank McKendry ACL for providing the crush barriers and all of the staff and volunteers who helped to deliver this, notably Chris Gray, who never has a paintbrush too far from his hand.
“It is also important to thank the SGSA, Council, PSNI and service providers, who form our SAG Group, for their continual support to the club in helping us address some of the matters we are progressing for the stadium.
“The shared desire to move The Showgrounds forward is very positive, encouraging and allows everybody to work toward the same goal.”
Coleraine FC kindly asks supporters to adhere to guidance from stewards, not just on the Uncovered Terrace, but across all areas of the ground.
